When (for once) you remember to unpack exciting edibles like blue cheese and pate, solely in order to prevent the boys from breaking into the backpack to steal same, it would help if you remembered also to put same away in safe places, rather than just leaving them out on the counter.

But you have to admit your felines have a very sophisticated diet. Blue cheese and pate? The most ours get to steal is fish skins.

It's something to do with black cats. My friend's black cats were inveterate thieves.

Unlike your cats, though, they tended to steal food and bring it home with them. Together with the usual offerings of half-dead birds, mice, frogs and mutilated spiders, they brought along:

Whole carcase of cooked chicken
Large pork pie
Long string of sausages

She still doesn't know where they got them from.....
