I have been dogged by rain ever since I shipped out of Madison. At Heathrow, my taxi driver congratulated me on bringing home fine weather. It was pouring within twelve hours!
However, I have just walked into town to buy some vegetables and an eighteen-month academic desk diary (and to forget to buy some milk!), and the sun has tentatively emerged and begun to burn off the impressive sea mists. Still feels like a sauna out there, but the sense of living in the bottom of a green glass terrarium is at last receding.
