Hee. Okra. I have not thought of okra; I don't think I have cooked okra since Mac moved in. It's an occasional treat, in this house.

I guess perhaps I should rustle up an occasion, just to see... (I generally curry it one way or another, and he does like curry. And greenstuff generally. How he reacts to internal slime - for want of a better word - will be fascinating...)

And you're quite right, of course. I shoulda known. Never mind the olive, when there's stilton in the case...

Of course, the cornmeal batter on fried okra eliminates a great deal of the slime factor.

These were resturant leftovers, so they were deep-fried, but it can be done either way. Although, to be honest, the size of the average okra slice means that even fairly shallow oil depths could be considered deep fat.
