...except that the new version is nothing like that long: I've cut the best part of 30,000 words, and the total now stands just under 132,500. Which is almost contractual (125K, says the contract). And if my agent sends it back for cutting, I shall... I shall...
I shall cut it, obviously. But possibly not without a murmur.
And now I shall make tea, for me and the boys both; and then I shall go out to the Sage, for a concert performance of Strauss's Elektra. Om-nom-nom, quoth the culture vulture.
And then? Tomorrow? Who knows? Perhaps I shall kick up my heels and frolic. Perhaps I shall stay in bed all day. Perhaps I shall shop; perhaps I shall clean house.
Perhaps I shall find some work to do.
