Um. I may have been optimistic, when I said I'd taken no harm from the mugging experience. My back has been ... increasingly inconvenient all day, and it was really awkward at the opera tonight. Still'n'all, we know what to do about that: hot baths and ibuprofen, sit on the sitty thing, be sat upon by cats (that last wasn't actually in my doctor's list of recommendations, nor the physio's neither; it's something they came up with by themselves). (Barry is sitting on me as we speak.) (He's sure that it helps. Either that or he doesn't give a bugger about my back and he just wants a nice warm lap to snuggle in. You decide.)

Also, Elektra was magnificent. Just extraordinary. Sort of at the limits of my ability to talk about music, but it's good to go to the borderlands now and then. And for sheer storytelling, it's got it all. Really didn't need the surtitles, guys, y'know? You can trust the music... (Except that without the surtitles, I would not have come away with the line "Eat greasy, sweet foods and sleep with your men," which I am going to steal shamelessly and build an entire story around. Or possibly an entire world.)

Bizarrely, when I saw your post about the mugging, I thought it was a random fiction snippet. I do apologise!

Alas: my fictional life isn't half so interesting...

(Y'know, I usually have to say that the other way around?)

Very glad you're ok, anyway!

Zalabia! (I have actually made these, back in the days before I foreswore deep frying. They were very good, but it was a protracted process and extremely sticky. I suspect the addition of cats would not make it any easier...)

Cats are an important form of mobile heating and, if you lie on the floor (ie doing yoga) will offer walking massages, catupuncture and, in the case of Mooncat, hair washing.

You could say that your back has been antivenient. Contravenient?
