I fear I have become a wimp, in the twenty-odd years since I used to bake regularly. Ten minutes' kneading doesn't half make my arms ache. In very particular muscles, that I clearly don't use else. And one loaf a week isn't likely to improve that very much...

Still. This week's loaf is looking even better than last week's. Currently cooling a little, before I cut it. Now would be a good time to heat the soup. 'Scuse me...

A loaf every other day and you would be ache-less in about 3-4 weeks. At once a week, it will be a few months probably. Just going from general work-out patterns here ;)

Aye, but if I ate a loaf every other day, I'd be appallingly flabby and the sight of my rippling muscles would be lost in all that rippling flesh. Sigh...

(I was similarly disappointed when I was first put on steroids for the asthma, but they turned out to be the kind of steroids that don't turn you big and bulgy.)

I suppose I could, y'know, make bread for other people...?

When I thought I had carpal tunnel (which turned out to be a ganglion cyst--cyst removed, pain vanished like magic!) my husband got us a big Kitchen Aid mixer with a kneading attachment. I've never used it because I really like kneading (it's therapeutic) but I don't make bread often--the family consumes it before it's cooled, and then I would have to make bread all over again, and I'd never get any work done and I'd have arms like a navvy.

"Dragon in Chains" was sitting outside my door waiting for me when I got home from lectures today!

*disappears under duvet*

I shall let you know what I think.

last night i was trying to trim skin and fat off of chicken thighs prior to freezing them and by the end, i was thinking i had pulled a muscle cutting chicken, my back hurt so much--i could hardly stand. i have no idea what passes for chicken-cutting exercises to beef (heh) that up.

(for the record, i trimmed 14 chicken thighs--i'm not talking about two or anything.)
