This, of course, comes from icanhaschzbrgr, and it caused me to laugh twice: once because I think it's funny, and once for painful-recognition reasons which y'all know about already.




Which are all particularly painful this morning, because I had sizzled a panful of mushrooms, a pound or two, preparatory to making soup. I left 'em on the stove, thoughtfully, with a lid on: my thought being, the pan's too hot, and he won't shift that lid.

Alas, he's smarter than me. There was a humungous clatter, and I came back to find the pan and the mushrooms all over the kitchen floor, with cat. Gravity and/or impact had shifted the lid for him, and whatever the technical terms are for losing temperature by falling through air and spreading out over a cold surface had cooled the shrooms just lovely, thanks...

Sid managed to catapult the grill pan off the top of the oven last night, resulting in a truly impressive crash. It's one way of cleaning the thing, I suppose.
