In which I have Dubbled

It is ... somewhat less than reassuring? ... when you've just been told that your flight will be delayed by ten or fifteen minutes, and the very next second you see a vivid red firetruck racing across the tarmac towards your plane.
Happily, that was only precautionary. As was, perhaps, the wheel-change that occasioned it. One does wonder a little, what it was that made them decide suddenly that they urgently needed to change that wheel, even at the cost of delaying the plane; but it would have felt inappropriate to ask...
Sitting in the hotel foyer this morning, waiting for airport-headed company, I overheard two people complaining about the self-same problem (no hot water in the shower). One was Australian, one was English. One got a refund, one didn't. You can work out which.
I, of course, had had the self-same problem myself, and never mentioned it.
Oh, and one evening I came out of an eating-place murmuring that I must surely have eaten worse food and paid more for it; but looking back, I'm pretty sure I was lying.
And yes, I had a lovely time in Dublin, thank you. And funds permitting, I expect to be going back next year. Heh.
