Ahoy there me hearty,
Oi be Cap'n Redbeard's handsome young cabin boy, and sole survivor of the wreck of the Jolly Roger. Afore ee went down, the cap'n entrusted me with the chart showin' where the burried treasure be. Twenty thousand gold dubloons off the Spanish Main. As Oi'm currently in a delicate condition, Oi need a trusty partner to help bring this back to Blighty. Of course I understand ye'll be needin' expenses for the rum and the lash an somethin' else I imagine, so oi'd be willin' to let ye keep fifteen hun'red of these gold dubloons. Oi just need a little help with a few pressin' expenses before I send ye the chart.

Jolly, Jolly my Roger now

You could always get the train to Alnmouth and walk the rest . . . Just 'cos Alan bloody Beith lives there, every train that should stop at Morpeth stops there . . .

Whoa, Dobbin, time to go back in the toycupboard with all the other hobby horses.

Melissa was seriously miffed she didn't know about Pirate day. She went into Newcastle College dressed normally, not even vaguely Goth, and there were all these pirates. And she has this great pirate costume for the Whitby Goth weekend!

Serious miffage indeed.

And yes, if plans come to fruition and I have to do regular trips to Barter Books, then walking through to Alnmouth is very much on the cards; I can stay with m'friends Val & Kelly. But these planning trips are about getting back as much as getting there, and the trains don't cooperate timewise.

That's not seriously why the trains stop at Alnmouth, is it, because Alan Beith lives there...?

Would I lie to you? No, seriously, that is the reason, and the schedules were changed shortly after he was elected.

Mind you, I think our car can get to Barter Books on its own!
