la_marquise_de_: we are both on the last run-in with our current books, and first to the finish wins.
This is foolish because I have just reached that point -mizkit calls it the novelist's event horizon - where the ending of my book recedes just exactly as fast as I advance towards it.
But a race it is, and totals shall be posted.
Today, I have written 1,999 words. I will leave you to guess why I stopped there.
