Difficult decisions...
Oct. 19th, 2009 06:48 pmHmm. More work, more wine...?
I do try to ration my drinking at home, and also to keep it restricted to the work-desk. Which means that I hit this point nightly, where I've had my ration but if I drank more I'd work more, and working is always good, right...?
These last few days I have met this moment with a cunning counter-proposal: when I've met my wine-ration, I have simply poured myself a gin, adjourned to the reading-chair and read a book for blurbing. Which is clearly work, and hence allowed.
But the blurb-book is finished and blurbed, so that opportunity is lost. (Publishers! Send me your books for blurbing! Do it now!) I would like to finish this piece of work before I go away on Friday; there are all sorts of reasons why I should sit here longer and carry ondrinking writing. But. I do try to be good drinkwise, because otherwise I will only be bad, and that way ... well. We know what lies that way.
Sigh. I am enquandarised.
