"Well, that's that, and I'm glad it's over."
Usual small prize for spotting the source. Sans google, obviously.
Anyway: the draft of the novel has gone out to agents, at 150,000 words. Which is one of many reasons to worry about it, because the other two in this series I was having to hack back from many many more than that. As I foretold thee, nothing happens in this one. It's all about angst, and who cares...?
Anyway, nothing I can do about it now. It's gone. And me, I feel pathetic to be so much in need of comfort tonight (I have to make a few phone-calls tomorrow, oh noes! It's hardly a tragedy), but I have decreed it: there shall be comfort fudz (cauliflower mushroom macaroni blue cheese, with tomatoes on the top under all the grilled cheddar-and-breadcrumb crunch), and the rest of this bottle of wine shall be comfort wine also, and go along withal.
Talking of phones, I have learned how to make my mobile phone not-bleep when I press its imaginary keys, which is a goodness. Also I have changed the ringtone from some unbearable tune to a classic bell. The plan is still that no one will ever ring me, but if they do I needn't die in public. I think.
