Not going to Toronto

desperanceTurned down! Again! Bah, humbug. I haven't had a freebie from the Arts Council for, ooh, years'n'years. They clearly don't love me any more.
That's okay. *snf!* I don't love them either. *sob!*
Which will not stop my applying for a grant to go to WorldCon in Australia. I don't expect to get it, but I will require them to turn me down, rather than just letting the occasion slip by.
In other,more decorative news, the fan-heater is working wonders in the bedroom. The damp retreats like Napoleon from Moscow. That may just be superficial: I shall turn it off soon, and see if the wet advances once again.
Also, the wallpaper is entirely determined to leave the wall. I shall allow this, but not yet: not till I'm prepared to consider redecorating the room. Which I've done it once already, and the bulk of this house I haven't touched since I moved in. Um, fifteen years ago. *is embarrassed* It's not actually the decorating that defeats me; as mentioned heretofore, I kind of enjoy decorating. It's the preliminaries: specifically, the logistics of how to manage emptying any one room in order to decorate it. This house is full; there is nowhere to put anything. 'Specially all these books.
