In other news (for yes, apparently there can be other newses), the lid of my kettle ist kaput. It's supposed to flick up at the touch of a button, but now it has to be wrenched off manually. This coincides with my tea-elf revealing that it is now possible to buy a kettle that heats water to a pre-set temperature. I have been wanting such a kettle for years (white tea is best made at 80 degrees, green at 85...).
However. No. I do not need this. I am strong; I can resist teh shiny. My extant kettle still boils fine, and there's an old spare in the cupboard. Etc.
