I know where I am. Where am I?
Jul. 30th, 2010 04:37 pmFedEx just delivered the copy-edited manuscript of HIDDEN CITIES, oh joy. (Going through a CEM is my least-favourite of all the tasks involved in being a novelist, with the possible exception of all the others.)
But I am not here to grumble, oddly. I am here to crow. The printed address label on the package must surely have been scanned and OCR'd automatically from the handwritten documentation, as no human could have reproduced my address as:
Chen Brenchley
Fcnhom Bien
6 Slodky Terrace
Ailhuis Hill
Venrahle on Tyre
GB NE45AN
I am rather delighted to tell you that not a single line, barely a single word of that is accurate.
And now I want actually to live on Ailhuis Hill in Venrahle on Tyre. Sounds more fun than here.
