Last call for Desdaemona...
May. 18th, 2011 10:47 pmLaunch party at the Lit & Phil tomorrow (Thursday) night, which must be today already for some of you, tho' likely not those in striking range of Newcastle.
If you're close, though, tomorrow? Thursday 19th? Do come. 7.00pm. You could be the first person in the world to buy the book; someone has to be, and they will definitely be someone at the gig tomorrow. Today. Whichever. This is almost two weeks ahead of publication. Such privilege...
In other news, I am gradually ticking stuff off the list of Stuff That Must Be Done before I go away on Saturday. The big one, the rewrite of House of Doors, is of course the task that's taking longest and coming out worst. I am in that state where I can't do anything right and all I turn my hand to is kinda crap actually. Which is a pity, because I do still have to keep doing stuff.
Also I heard today that an old friend of mine had died a few months back. Granted she was 96'n'all, but we all thought she'd make it to a hundred. So of course I didn't keep as close touch as I should've, because she seemed rock-solid and reliably there. At a uni grading meeting was ... not the ideal way to learn that she was gone. I am, as usual, more upset than you'd think.
