That's that then, you're off my f'list. The one actor who I just cannot watch, ever, in anything.

I do like the result I got though, I think Katharine Hepburn is a good person to resemble.

Golly, really? Ain't that strange? Not saying he's my one-and-only - I'm not big on classic Hollywood anyway - but what I've seen of his work, I've enjoyed. Or forgotten.

Katherine Hepburn, though - whoo, yeah. That is good.

I've tried watching several of his films, many of them 'classics' (I have a fine rant about 'It's a Wonderful Life') and not enjoyed any of them - not managed to finish most of them. I suspect that it's a combination of his slow style of acting and the style of the movies themselves. I can't see past him personally to the other stuff.

OK, I may not be making sense here, I need to *handwave* to get the point across I think.

Hepburn though, I like her, I am very pleased to have that result.

Hee. I remember when we got our first telephone, about 1970 - my poor mum was totally flummoxed. Gazed at it in despair, and said "How am I supposed to talk, without my hands?"

I do fairly regularly type *handwave* in e-mail or IM, but usually only to people who either know me well enough that they're used to it, or that I'm pretty convinced know what I'm talking about without having to elaborate on all the details. Useful shortcut it is.

I empathize with your mum there.

I cannot *stand* "It's a Wonderful Life." Gods, how I hate that movie. I hate emotionally manipulative movies, and Frank Capra was BAD about that--people coined the term "Capra-corn". He's sentimental in the literary way, not the mainstream-dictionary way: emotional cheap shots, not genuine feeling.

Yuck!

I am *so* glad that someone else hates that movie. I'd not seen it until Other Half made me watch it a few years ago. He billed it as a 'happy, feel good, movie'. A more depressing piece of dreck I can't ever remember seeing. Horrible misery making film.

I thought I was going to get Hepburn, too, but older, sharp-as-a-tack Kate, not Bringing up Baby Kate. That quiz wanted screwball comedy. Pfui!

I don't think I know who Jean Arthur is, so can't say whether it's better or worse than getting Hepburn in my mind. I don't *think* I'm a screwball *worries*.

I wanted Kate. I am Kate!

Have you seen Bringing Up Baby? She's still smart as a whip, but a little ditzy. She's in that with Cary Grant. I have never heard of this Jean person, but the results don't sound *too* bad. I have lots of grit, apparently.
