Transitory perfection
Oct. 11th, 2011 10:57 amYikes. You know how I was just talking a few days ago about maybe thinking of replacing the Laptop of Heavenly Perfection, as and when I had to...?
I shouldn't have done that. I knowed it at the time. I shouldn'ta done it.
Just settling down to work this morning - and the W key wouldn't W. It wouldn't work at all, I couldn't press it. Figured maybe there was something trapped beneath the key, preventing it from depressing; gave the machine a knock and a shake, and - yeah. Up to a point. I can at least press it now.
It misfires, maybe every other press. Half of the Ws you see in this post are the result of two or three attempts.
Who'd have thought the old language to have so many Ws in it...?
It may sort itself out, with use and/or agitation. The walk home will shake it about. But right now... Well. It's kind of disruptive. My mind is not where it ought to be. I love my Laptop of Heavenly Perfection, and it's limping...
