Busy, busy

First thing this morning, I packed more parcels and took them to the post. Well, no: obviously first (significant) thing, I fed the cats. And then drank coffee while reading a book. Third thing, I packed parcels etc.
Then came down to the Lit and Phil, and have been here pretty much all day, bar an hour's wandering/shopping at lunchtime. Lunch was ham sammiches, eaten at the keyboard. There may have been a spurt of tomato seeds all over the touchpad, but the Laptop of Heavenly Perfection is not unaccustomed to mess; we agreed to blame![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
frumpo (who grew the tomato) and carry on regardless.
Don't nobody tell the LHP, but I continue to ogle newer faster smarter ultraportable laptops. While reminding myself sternly that there is no spare money and I already carry too much debt. The LHP has been spectacularly robust for what, five years now? Something like that. I'm sure it will continue to be so. I just have a wandering eye, is all. *hangs head in shame at own perfidy*
Soon enough I need to leave the library and head to the pub, where I shall do more workings and see if anyone joins me, before I go to join them at a restaurant across the way: for it is the First Mondays Christmas Outing tonight. (Anyone venturing to point out that this is not First Monday by any reasonable definition will be frowned at. Severely.) Fooding and drinking, there shall be. And more drinking.
And then tomorrow more work, I blithely hope. Born on the Sabbath Day, I was: I'm entitled to be blithe. I love blithe.* It's so inveterately premature.
But first, more work today! I want another 200 words before I leave this place. Then maybe I'll do something different in the pub, take a first look at the copy-edit, depress myself thoroughly before my friends arrive...
