That one's definitely inspiring. I could see that being a character in something. But alas, I have a contracted book to finish before I get on a plane on Wednesday, with 5000 words to go...
This is the thing that I told $PUBLISHER was going to be a novella, and is currently 58 kwords. I don't trust it not to find another 10 kwords of plot behind my back. This sort of lack of discipline is one reason why I languish in the small press.
And I've got to finish the Christmas cards and present posting before I go. *And* pack, which tends to involve running around in a screaming panic all morning. And tidy the spare room, aka "I'll deal with that later" dumping ground, lest I come back and find that it has been tidied for me by Other Half. He's the one with the job, so he's only going to be away for a week.
I'm going back to the UK for Christmas -- seeing family and friends and the like. Which reminds me that I must post in rec.arts.sf.composition now that I have some idea of where and when I'll be for the next couple of weeks.
