This will come as news to y'all, but I have an inner introvert. He starts just beneath my skin, and goes all the way through to the bone of me.

He is ... beginning to feel a little challenged. Everything is lovely - houseguests and company and social stuffs and cheesecrawl (oh, wait - I haven't even told you about the cheesecrawl, have I? Later...) - but I am starting to cast about for opportunities to be on my own.

Which may be why I am about to go shopping for the third time this morning. You're always alone in a grocery queue on the day before Thanksgiving. That ought to be ironic or something, but it's really not.

A stereotype of the grocery queue the night before Thanksgiving is that it includes single men clutching a rock-solid-frozen whole turkey, which they mean to leave under the hot water tap in the sink all night. They may also have several gallons of peanut oil these days.
