Improvised chocolate croissants
Feb. 5th, 2013 05:14 pmWhen the wife comes home in need, and what she really needs is a chocolate croissant?
And when a quick mission to the grocery store delivers the sad news that there are none?
It is perfectly acceptable, in this extremis, to buy regular croissants and a bar of good chocolate, and improvise. A little diligent work with the breadknife, a couple of squares broken up and spread about, the whole heated in a middling oven until the chocolate melts: it may all seem obvious, but sometimes it's good to check these things.
Perfectly acceptable, I am assured. So that's okay.
(Tho' I did, of course, view this as an incentive. I really must learn to make croissants, and pain au chocolat.)
