desperanceSo I was vaguely wondering what would turn out to be this day, as I sleepystumbled towards the cats' breakfast; but now I know, and I really wish I didn't.
Iain Banks has cancer, late-stage and likely terminal.
If I could have been any writer other than myself, these last thirty years, I'd have been Banksie; but more than that, he's a mate and a good man. And half of a good pair, with Adele. This is grim all over.
