Hunh. I appear - *touches desk, in a thoroughly unsuperstitious manner* - to have solved the problem with the TENS machine. By, as it happens, the expedient of a new battery. When this one runs out of juice, apparently it goes into pulse mode first, then one-channel-only. I didn't figure it out till that last symptom showed, because (a) I'm dim, and/or (b) none of my other machines have done that.

Also, Mitsubishi Super Heavy Duty battery? Lasted a day and a half. I'm somewhat less than impressed.

I'd better go to Fry's and get rechargeables. But not right now; I need to clean up the kitchen. It's all a thing.
