So I was out in the garden, feeling more or less in despair about more or less everything, when zoom! I was totally buzzed by a hummingbird. Hanging in the air two feet away, checking me out, before whizzing away about his concerns. I was delighted.

Also, first butterfly of the year. Vivid orange with black flecks. Doesn't he know it's still January?

I have changed the mixed seed in the other feeder to black oil sunflower seeds, in hopes that something might actually want to come and eat of them.
