Picking lemons from a tree

So last night was all full of good things, and mostly people: but chalk this up to rockstar quality, that people totally played pass-the-parcel with a book just to get me to scribble in it. Keith in DC [*waves to Keith*] sent his book to Borderlands, so that I would sign it. Tragically, Jude was off sick and no one else knew, so that didn't happen. But Seanan was in Borderlands this week, and mentioned that we were going out last night, and Jude cried "Oh, is he still here?" and snatched up book and explained; so Seanan brought it to Kate's house, where we came, and lo. I signed book. Hee. (It was a copy of Lace and Blade, since you ask: my contribution just one short story among many. And still worth posting all across the country, apparently. I love collectors.)

And then we went out and I ate goat curry, and then we went back and I picked lemons! fromatree!* and we drank Corpse Reviver No. 2, which is a fine drink and there should probably be more of it.

*by green torchlight: which seemed only appropriate, as there is absinthe in the mix.

Meanwhile, my pi story has completely failed to finish itself, or even to supply me with an ending. *glowers* The set-up is so beautiful, I insist that there shall be a payoff. By tomorrow, please. And we're out this afternoon and evening, and tomorrow is Baking Day (cake! pies! whatever!), so, yup. Now would be good.
