Squee!

OMG people Karen's working from home today so we went to early coffee club and came home and it's bin day so I went to put the bin in the back yard and OMG people there was a hummingbird at our feeder!

Of course it had gone before K could get there to see it, so I expect it just had one taste and didn't like my mixture and is never coming back and will tell all its friends to keep away and and and, but still! Hummingbird!

(Also I've just lent m'camera to Katherine, so no pix, so I suppose it didn't happen. But still! Hummingbird!)

The survivability of toast

This is the kind of journalism that I love: it starts out about food and ends up about people. (Of course it could equally well go the other way, and I'd love that too. Equations are bidirectional.)
