We're on an island!
Feb. 7th, 2014 11:02 pmIt's funny, I kinda feel like I ought to shout, because you-all are all the way back on the mainland there and how will you ever hear me...?
Not that we saw much of Orcas last night, because of night. We left Sunnyvale early in the morning, and even so: we could've got to England quicker than we got here, what with planes and shuttle-buses and other shuttle-buses and ferries and cars. But we were here, last night; and this was the view from the window this morning:

It was actually snowing at the time, tho' I don't think you can see that. And then we did the breakfast part of bed-and-breakfast, and went to many other islands in the car (with ferries between us and the water, you understand) and ate and drank and shopped and touristed and so forth. And then we came back to Orcas and saw very little of it, because of night. Again. Tomorrow we are going nowhere except here, and we shall see Orcas in the day. Because of sunlight.
And meantime everybody else has gone to bed and I am sitting here with a glass of wine and a roaring fire and the internets and guilt, because I will disturb Karen when I go up. And probably the longer I linger the more disturbed she'll be, so...
