Oh, glory. Lack of. The BBC is making a Merlin series. Presumably to hook in the Dr Who viewers, in his absence or regeneration or whatever it is.
I just saw a trailer. It looks... abysmal? Worse than Robin Hood?
I suppose I should be celebrating: something else I don't have to watch.

Date: 2008-09-09 06:44 pm (UTC)Whatever happened to you, Beeb? I seem to recall you used to have something like standards. Now you have Robin Hood, and headlines that say things like, "Mortgages to reduce by 25%".

Date: 2008-09-09 06:29 pm (UTC)But Merlin should be better. The lead has a charming smile, Anthony Stewart Head looks to appear, and there's a ruggedly handsome young Arthur.

Date: 2008-09-09 07:50 pm (UTC)I too screamed at Arthur in the Fionavar tapestry. But not as hard as I laughed at the Great Celtic Scholar and his huge audience (I was trained by the greatest living Celtic scholar at the time Kay was writing. Huge audiences don't happen). Oh, and then there's prince aircraft component. (Aileron.)
