Baby lime, next to regular lime:

In other news, when are they going to invent the wireless transfer of pics from camera to computer? I am getting very bored of swapping the memory card in and out. (And, yes, I do remember the days when it took weeks of waiting until the film was developed and printed before you even knew what your photos looked like; but that was yesterday, and part of an old experience [and actually, the wait was a part of the process, and to be enjoyed in a kind of a way]. This is today, and a new experience, and I just want it to work more efficiently; constantly trundling up and down stairs with a teeny-tiny memory card between finger and thumb is not efficient.)

They have already invented wireless memory cards...

Ah, sorry, both of those things are normally available on camera phones, but not larger digital cameras.

Ah, it was that kind of post: born to invite repudiation. Of course there would be ways to do it, just not with my camera right now. Is okay, exercise is good for me...

you can feel good that using wires is probably faster than wireless.

Thanks, I'll do that. Till I upgrade, several generations down the line, and transfer will just be automatic from anywhere in the world, and there'll be something else that's bleeding-edge and not yet standard to grumble about...

I plug my camera into the USB port and download it directly.

The baby lime would be perfect for a very small G&T.

Mmm. It doesn't come with Linux software, though; no doubt there's a hack out there, but then you have to carry the whole damn camera up and down stairs, and plug the cable in both ends, and wait for the computer and the camera to talk to each other, and...

I've got a card reader built in; I really think it's easier just to swap the card over. Certainly with my previous camera it was a million times faster.

Invented ages ago, you just have the wrong camera. I've put a couple of links in Alex's reply above ... but there are many wifi enabled cameras out there ... and you can also get memory cards with wifi built in, such as EyeFI (http://www.eye.fi/")

Actually I'm not in the least surprised. By the time I upgrade the camera, no doubt it'll be standard; thank you for the links meantime...
