Other people's dreams are boring, but...
Oct. 5th, 2008 09:51 amI did just want to record this one.
At some point in the early morning, I woke (I do this all night long) to find that Barry Was Not There. This almost never happens; he gets chased off sometimes by Mac, but he always comes back.
And then I slept again, and dreamed that I lost him.
Specifically, I dreamed that I took the boys to a shopping mall, to let them run around; apparently I had done it before. This time, Barry ran away down the escalator, and I couldn't catch him. Turned out there were lots of other cats there. I did not abandon Barry, no, I would go back to find him if I could - but meantime, I brought Mac home with Another Cat. Who was a Weird Cat: odd grey spots on white, with a docked tail, really rather ugly already, before you looked at his eyes. Of which he had four. The two regular ones (tho' they looked like they had cataracts, nevertheless they were what he used to see with) had been moved high up on his head, to make room for two artificial ones: one of which was blank as a button, and the other was like a watchface with the numbers 1084 artily displayed in black on yellow like a smiley face...
And then I woke up again, and there was a Lump beside my elbow as there ought to be, and all was more or less well.
[Oh, and I also dreamed that I was trying to use a browser but the URL bar kept filling up with screensaver, but that was another dream, I think. Somehow more creepy.]

Date: 2008-10-05 09:40 am (UTC)Being afflicted with arthritis and having only three legs, Tabitha can no longer get on the bed by herself. This means that if she doesn't come to bed when we're awake she has to make alternative arrangements. Last night we went to bed without her. In the small hours I woke from a horrible dream in which dangerous men were invading my house with evil intent. The only thing I was worried about in the dream, however, was that after they had gone I couldn't find Tabitha.
I had to get up and locate her (on the campaign chair in my office) and take her back to bed with me.
