Chaz is L...
Dec. 7th, 2008 10:56 pm...or he will be, on Jan 4th next.
L!!
The feeling is abroad that there ought to be a party. This will be Difficult to Manage, what with cats and cramped space and horrid house and so forth, but it might be done. I'm slightly shy of committing, what with the book still not being finished and so forth, but...
Well, it could happen, that's all I'm saying. [I could make rules: you must wear things beginning with L - lace! linen! lamé! latex! - and only bring gifts or food beginning with L and so forth (not wine: we'll have no Lambrusco here...)(tho' Lafite would be most welcome...). I like rules. People would have to stay Late and be Lovely throughout.]
We could hold the party in L-space, and find the secret passage through to the Lit & Phil; then there'd be plenty of room.
But. What I was vaguely thinking, for people who live a long way away, it's a long way to come for a Sunday afternoon/evening, and then they have all the hassle of getting back.
Soooo, if I declared a subsidiary party all weekend long, a houseparty as it were, would anybody actually like to come? The entertainment would probably consist largely in watching me shop, clean and cook, but there could be music and movies, there would be lots of wine and such, there could perhaps be the famous Chazian tour of Newcastle. People would meet people. I 'spect we could find beds, here and there across the city. If people wanted to come...
People? Comment here if you'd be interested, or else e-mail me separately: chaz at chazbrenchley dot co dot uk.

Date: 2008-12-07 11:54 pm (UTC)Of course you could have aged since then, but when I met you I'd have put you somewhere between xxxv & xxxx so I'm moderately surprised. (unless L means something completely different, in which case I appologise.)

Date: 2008-12-08 10:30 am (UTC)The purple thing? It is, um, a community building of some description. I don't know if it's hirable (is that a word? Looks weird...). Nice idea, though. I'll find out...

Date: 2008-12-08 10:26 am (UTC)As this can't be age (I've seen pictures, I have), it's got to be a hint of the impending rebranding. Lars Larsson? Lottie Lewis? Oh, I know! Louis L'Amour! Perfect name for a romance writer such as... Hang on, someone's saying something here...
Really? Gosh, are you sure? Fancy that... So, not that romantic, then? Oh. Well, that walking drum sounds like it could've been written but the author of Outremer. No?
Ahem. Don't mind me, I'll just be over here in the corner, feeling confused.

Date: 2008-12-08 10:57 am (UTC)A propos of nothing, would you care for dvds of Swordsman 1 and Swordsman 3? We have spares looking for a home (S2 is the easy one to find over here -- Amazon do it). They don't begin with L, but 3 stars the lovely Lin Ching-Hsia (also in 2, along with Lee Lian-jie).
