Okey-doke. I have been to the hospital, displayed my thumb to the clever hand-surgeons and agreed with them that - swollen, limited and painful as it is - there's nothing more they can do to make it better; I am discharged.

I have worked, I have shopped; I have laid hold of the next Patrick O'Brian in sequence and Ultraviolet the TV series, which I liked but only ever saw the once and that was long ago.

I have put cod roes in the freezer, and pork rinds in the oven.

I have rearranged a delivery I missed.

I have no friends, no life, no engagements.

I have nothing more to do now, but to finish this book.

Someone hold my hat. I'm going in.

I hope the thumb gets better soon: it must be so frustrating.

Good luck with the book! *cheers on from the sidelines*

Yay on being discharged. Hope the writing goes well. (It will. We have faith.)
And boo to that Fox person, who must be stealing all your friends....

Watch the opening credits of Ultraviolet, and realise why my dear wife and I used to call it "Ravioli".

Grrr. Woof! *wags*

(I make such an ineffectual dog. Far, far be it from me to suggest that the Chinese know not whereof they speak, but...)

We used to have neighbors who had this cat that acted like a dog (it would go on walks with them; it would approach our dog in a dog-like manner either to play or to try to dominate our dog, so we were sure it was a dog using a cat's physical form. Maybe you are the spiritual/Chinese birth year opposite?

Me, I am such a dog. Of course, my spouse is a Rat, but that's a different issue.

Sometimes I stay over at a friend's house. He has dogs, in whom I delight, and I like to pretend they are the only reason for staying over (he is not, I think, fooled).

The true reason, of course, is that looking out of his bedroom window in the morning, I can watch a neighbour go for a walk. With his dog, naturally - and his cat. Who strolls along beside, and wanders into other people's gardens while man and dog wait for him, and then wanders out and on they go...

It's a delight.

Which is why you need to watch/ read "Fruits Basket".

Also, you should finish the book.

I have a book I have written half of, which I need to finish.

Well, I'll go easy on you, since I actually can't work today, tomorrow, or Sunday. Still - it ought to be close.
