desperanceAlso, I forgot to say I was confronted with a quandary this morning: what to read? These last many weeks, my breakfast coffee has been happily shared with Aubrey and Maturin; but you can't read Patrick O'Brian for ever, there are only twenty books.
Happily, the solution was at hand. Well, many solutions were at hand, but top of the TBR was Kari Sperring's Living with Ghosts. Which I'm only a chapter into so far, and I may have more sensible things to say about it later, but so far I just want to coo and pet it. *pets*
Seriously, it's a joy. Spies and swords and courtly machinations, grace and beauty and ghosts; what is there, not to love? Plus an equally courtly, equally deadly hand with language. I am loving this.

I'll pick it up again in a month or so, where I left off.
