In lieu of content

Today has been all but content-free. This morning I waited in for the plumber, until the plumber came; then I waited around for the plumber to finish, which was three hours later; since then I have been pretty much footling about, trying to feel that I am - slowly, slowly! - getting things done and making stuff better. Even if it is mostly just fighting against entropy.

No books have been embiggened, that's my point. Broken things have been fixed, taxes have been dragged one stage closer to completion, work has been done in the garden; also, a redraft has been not exactly completed but at least sent away; but still. No new words, nothing that counts as writing. And my shoulder aches and my fingers tingle, and I foresee an evening of undeserved indulgence.

So: in lieu of content, I had meant to post pix, for yes, I have found my camera.

However, I find that the Dreamwidth pix-posting process is b0rked, at least for me in my Linux array. I've tried two separate browsers, and it declines to browse my files in either one. Hrrumph...

Dreamwidth doesn't have its own photo hosting, so that part of the LJ code is rather clumsily disabled; it's not Linux's fault. What I usually do is to use the "insert image" function on the LJ side to upload the picture and generate the code, then cut-and-paste it over here and cross post. LJ-hosted pics show up here just fine.

Ah, thank you. (Um, could they not slip in a teeny sliver of text, "this feature currently disabled" or something...?)

On my screen, that part of the dialog box is a shade of grey that suggests it doesn't work, but it is an exceedingly subtle visual cue; I agree that a verbal explanation would help. Come to that, I wouldn't have thought it would be much harder to just remove that part of the menu altogether.
