Sorry, but I've just been struck by giggles. Lined up beneath my monitor here, to help keep me going through the last working hour of the day, are: home made pork scratchings; wasabi peas; saucisson sec; salted grapes (don't ask me, I just bought them from the Chinese supermarket: they look like dusty raisins. I'll let you know); and a tub of mixed olives. Oh, and half a bottle of wine. Oh, reason not the need; our basest beggars are in the poorest things superfluous...

Umh, how do you know they are salted grapes, btw? I can't imagine what they might be...

Heh, I cheated. I read the packaging. It says "salted grape", along with a whole lot of Chinese characters I can't read, interspersed with just a few that I still can (there's a bu, there's a zi, there's a shang...).

The ingredients list allows a few words of English: grape, sugar, salt, citric acid, preservative.

The taste is - well, yeah. Like raisins washed in brine. I like.

Okay, they probably are grapes, but still!
