Okay: phone-call made! It was horrible, and took twelve minutes out of my day and years off my life, but the world didn't end quite yet.
And then nice windowrepairpersons phoned me back and - once we'd corrected all the many errors made by the other person involved in the previous phone-call, about minor matters like my actual address, which he must actually have had in front of him at the time of calling because he used it to confirm my identity - we have agreed that an operative shall call tomorrow morning to assess the damage. The mills of insurance grind slowly...
But I am now free for the hours of darkness: so I shall give the boys Early Tea (they like Early Tea) and drift into town like a drifty thing who has no writing to do. And when I have druft enough, I shall go to the Lit & Phil and introduce m'friend Val McDermid to the ravening hordes who are her fans.
Which reminds me: I was going to text a couple of people to let them know this event was happening, and then I thought it would be crazy annoying to have to tap out the same message more than once. Is it possible to send the same text to more than one person, I wonder? Like an e-mail? Must be, surely... [goes to play] It is, it is! Hurrah!
Still didn't send it, though. Why do I always think of these things too late?
Which reminds me - but no. Now is not the time. Tomorrow, I shall deal with that. Yes. *nods*
