Prostrate, substrate ... frustrate. Which obviously equals an added layer of fruss, where "fruss" is defined as unequal parts of fuss and grrr.
In other words, I have been trying to deal with the university today. Famously, I do not speak Institution. I went in all naively innocent, in hopes of sorting out my email access and getting an ID/swipecard that would actually allow me in and out of the building at those times I need to do that.
Hah, pshaw and pfui.
Is it beyond the wit of humanity to design a system where there is in fact one system and everybody knows it, so that the information you get from one quarter is not instantly denied, the moment you have trogged over to another quarter to implement same?
...Oh, never mind. We'll get it sorted. Just, I am employed by the hour to teach students; I get paid for face-time only. None of this other stuff counts as employment. I have now been in three times, which eats hours on each occasion, and I'll have to go back once more at least before I begin the teaching. And I'm only getting paid for sixteen hours. Le sigh.
