desperanceI should probably stop stopping to look up what a book is worth priced at on the internet. Clearly some of these sums are hopelessly ambitious, and I show no aptitude for selling books anyway.
On the other hand, I should probably have got Philip Pullman to sign my first editions while I had the chance.
Also, I wish I'd grabbed that whole pile of first editions of Northern Lights while they were there, instead of just the one for myself. I show no aptitude for selling books, but I could've sold those. Even at the time I knew they were worth more than the £4 he was asking...
