First butterfly of the year!
Feb. 10th, 2013 11:38 amAt least, the first butterfly I've noticed this year. No idea if that's unusual in mid-Feb over here. It's bright and sunny and warm-in-the-sun out there: T-shirt and sandals weather, except that I'm putting on boots and awesome socks and a jacket too, because I'm going up to the city and who knows?
My friend Marie Brennan is launching her new book, A Natural History of Dragons, at Borderlands this afternoon. As it happens, that Daniel Fox fellow has a blurb on the back of the book, so I'm going to cheer from the back. Also I'm hoping to shop for Seville oranges, as they're bizarrely hard to find here in the heart of citrus country.
And I'm going up with our friend Mark, who's over from the UK for business reasons. Lucky guy: he comes up to SF with me on Chinese New Year, and I take him shopping for oranges...
