A case of conscience
Mar. 23rd, 2013 07:48 pmIn other news, I am totally having a crisis over this: of conscience, of confidence, of something.
Can I, should I, dare I take pruning-shears to the rosemary, when I don't intend to use the prunings?
Thing is, a year's worth of cooking doesn't come close to using all a year's growth on this monster; and if I leave it to grow unchecked, it'll just take over the world and that'll be that for all of us. So I should prune it. Mercilessly. But: there is this thing in my head, that lurches back from the very thought of cutting herbs and not using them. It's unthinkable, almost literally. Almost.
So. I lurch one way, I lurch the other. And the rosemary keeps on growing.
