I just found a section where the scanned text says:
I heard him shooting. Ned ws cooking knife and stabbed Ned in the back.
Needless to say, I checked. The authorised version says:
I heard him shouting. There were two youths in the kitchen, and Ned was scuffling with one of them. The other just picked up my cooking knife and stabbed Ned in the back.
I wonder what happened, to make it drop so much text? And now of course I wonder if I should be reading this line-by-line against the original, instead of just reading it and checking where something's obviously wrong. There could be other chunks gone missing, less obviously...
