I just spent a thousand bucks on lumber for the fencing.
I should like it noted, though, that at least I did it in American. Bucks, you say? Lumber? Very well...
In case you're counting, that was six 4x4s, fourteen 2x4s and two hundred 6" planks. Which is about half a small redwood, by my reckoning; and which Chuck and I inspected plank by plank and loaded onto trolleys, wheeled through Home Depot (two hundred planks on one trolley? is about as manoeuvrable as a supertanker. And as slow to get moving), loaded into his trunk, drove home, unloaded and carried through to the back yard.
If I did this much work every day, truly would I be mighty of thew. To be honest, I'm feeling kinda mighty anyway. And here I was lamenting that I wouldn't get any exercise today because my bike has a flat tyre...
Now I'm going to take four ibuprofen (that's a prophylactic dosage, for fear of my back) and drink another pint of water, and consider what to do with the rest of the day. Chuck's on his own, digging post-holes.
