coth and B (winoLJ), I did just that, with a triumphant result. They may have eaten all of it.
But what I hadn't remembered was that there wasn't just parsley and infused milk in the parsley sauce. As I usually do, I got that far and thought "hey, mushrooms would make this even better..."
So, yeah. I may have instituted a new tradition: mushrooms in your bread sauce, anyone?
