These are quite fabulous - picture books to read online, and really not aimed at kids: sharp little amuses-gueules (ganked from mizkit)...

...and she's on LJ! chickenshoot is the onlie perpetrator of these offences, and should be cherished therefor.

By what warped logic do you make "amuses-gueules" the plural of "amuse-gueule"? It isn't French, since "amuse" is a verb, and it isn't English, because an "s" on the end would suffice: you don't say "corksscrews", do you? It's just perverse.

So are the little books, of course, in a good way...

I bet I do say corksscrews, though, if I only ever listened to myself; multiple screws work on multiple corks, simultaneously...

Nah, but I knew you'd jump on that, even as I typed it. I just like it when parts agree with each other, esp in contexts where in English they wouldn't need to. What I'd really love - 'amuse' being, as you say, a verb - would be 'amusent-gueules', but even I balked at that...
