desperanceOkay, look. It's a known response and I'm not at all surprised about it - but when the crisis is in part financial, it really would help if my reaction were not to spend money, y'know...?
I went to town to write and pay money into the bank. I came home with the money (which I forgot to pay in, again) and one page of story; and:
a book
a kilo of cherry tomatoes
cured meats
three t-shirts
a ball of string w/ dispenser
How much of that did I need? Um, none, for any measure of need with which I am familiar.
Oh, and I came home to a letter telling me that my bank account was to be debited £11,000 next week. It, um, doesn't actually contain £11, let alone the thousands. I had to phone India to get them to admit it was a mistake, bah humbeg. And I will still be watching my account on the 14th, just in case. I'd hate to have them take it anyway, and me not notice...
