As a variation on wanting to share their tragically-late beloved's millions with me if I only share my bank details with them, some spammer is offering to sell me gold bullion, many kilograms of gold bullion - and he's linked it to a BBC news story about the South African miners' strike, for added verisimilitude. Be grateful to the considerate man that he has no intention of shipping any of that gold to your local, friendly bank vault. After all, if he did you would be in possession of gold bullion in the UK, and that's a criminal offence. See, he's saving you from jail time. Cheap at half the price, I'd say.

As someone who used to work in offshore banking, I can say that there will be those sitting there even now, stroking their chins and thinking 'That sounds like a good idea . . .' only that would be dignifying mental processes with the term 'thought' that don't deserve it.

Is it really? Why's that, then? (I'm sure I remember a competition, few years back, where the prize was a gold ingot...)
