...he's mostly been nomming my Christmas cake, secretly, in the cupboard under the stairs. Furry little rat.

More entertainingly, I came downstairs this morning to find the dining-room covered with fluff. His favourite toy these last months has been a stick of faux-dynamite stuffed with catnip-flavoured fluff, armed with a long wick with a bell on the end. He has slain it up and down the stairs often and often, and carried the corpse of it around the house in jingly triumph.

Now, though, he really has slain it, and disembowelled it too. As a result of which, he and Barry have both spent the day sprawled in lascivious pleasure on the carpet, enraptured by catnip fluff. I did try to take pictures, but you know what they're like. Cute as anything till the camera points at 'em, and then suddenly they freeze or turn away. I'll share anything good, but I'm not hopeful.

Maxwell (trouble is my middle name) Mason very much likes Culpepper's catnip mice, stuffed with real catnip.
So much so that it went from -
Exhibit a.

to this, Exhibit b.

I think he pees on it, he certainly eats the tail. I really don't want to know. This was in only a few days.

Actually, yeah, some of us do hang around waiting for What Mac Has Nommed bulletins.

It's very sad, but also LOL-larious.

Hee. With my sweet former girl-cats, I used to grow catnip in a pot in the back yard, and we'd play hide-and-seek; I'd go outside and hide the pot, they'd come out and find it. Then Sophie would go to sleep on it, while Misha ate all that she could get at, and then went back indoors to be sick.

The plants never lasted long, but they thought the game was great...

Because of your regular bulletins on Mac (and also Barry), I am often reminded that life with Black-thumbed Jemmy Casey, Pirate Cat of the Cumberland could be ever so much more complicated than it is. This is good for Jemmy's welfare, if nothing else.
