What I did on my holiday: and/or, draft!

Sometimes, it seems a day off really is just what a body needs.
Drugs help, too.
Yesterday I went with
shewhomust and
durham_rambler to our mutual friends Jeremy and Apryl, in their piece-of-the-old-manor-house (with, if I remember correctly, two genuine priest holes and a fake). The blessed Jenny and Ramsey Campbell were there also. We all took wines, suitably cloaked, and played tasting-games in the sunshine.
And at some point during all this niceness, my stuck story unstuck itself, and lo: it is not quite broken after all. It's just about something different, looking another way.
So this morning I have fixed that and finished it, at least in first draft; and now I am going to knock up a batch of Chaz'z kofta-mix (basically minced lamb with onion and garlic and perhaps a bit of breadcrumb and mint and coriander) and head off to a barbie. More sunshine, more wine, more drugs. Not actually supposed to drink with these drugs I'm taking, but hey. Y'know. Sunshine, barbie, like that. And I start the new book tomorrow. You wouldn't want me to be abstemious tonight. You wouldn't like me if I abstemed.
