Relatively speaking
Oct. 9th, 2006 08:20 amWhy do I find this interesting? Given that I do not myself live in the USA? Because I'll be related to every one of these, and probably quite closely. We're a small family; there are only 630 Brenchleys in the whole of America. One branch is absolutely my own family: my grandfather's elder brother did the black-sheep thing (and we don't know what, or why!!!) and went to the States in disgrace, where he did that traditional black-sheep thing from so many romantic novels, he married an oil heiress. So I have a whole bunch of extremely wealthy American cousins, and they don't even know I exist, sob...
Interestingly, Charles (yes, I did this test with 'Charles Brenchley', on account of 'Chaz' not being in their database) is the ninth most popular first name in the States. There aren't that many of us over here.
